McCormick brings Grill Mates to UK foodservice

In response to the recent growth in grilling as a cooking technique, as well as the surge on menus of flavours from the American grill, McCormick has launched its Schwartz Grill Mates range into foodservice.


In the past 2 years the UK consumer has enjoyed a flurry of new openings on the high street dedicated to these popular trends; Flaming Grill Pubs, Gaucho (and its sister outlet, Cau), Bodean’s and Coal and Grill, to name but a few, but there has been no real solution for the everyday caterer wanting to replicate this for themselves.  Until now...  Already a well-known brand in the US, and launched into the UK retail sector last year, the Schwartz Grill Mates range of seasonings is now available for foodservice and includes Punchy Peppercorn - a blend of black, green, pink and Szechuan peppercorns with cloves and coriander and Deep South Brown Sugar - a sweet and spicy seasoning mix with a hint of whisky flavour.

Schwartz Grill Mates have been designed with the chef in mind following positive research carried out last year^; 81% of chefs asked said they would definitely or probably buy the product, with one chef saying, “It would add some new, exciting flavours to my meat and fish dishes, and even some of my vegetarian dishes - brilliant idea!” 

Schwartz Grill Mates is available in jars (Deep South Brown Sugar, Montreal Steak, Smokey Texan) or adjustable grinders (Punchy Peppercorn, Herb Fusion, Garlic and Herb Twist) from March and recipes can be found at
